We did it!!!

Well it's official, we are now homeowners! I'm so excited, but still a little stressed because we are in limbo still. It has been a very stressful month. It seems to me that everything seems to go wrong when you buy a home. First problem was the appraisal. They were having a hard time getting it to appraise at the price the sellers listed it for. It appraised at $187,000. We were afraid the sellers wouldn't go through with it since they would be loosing money. Luckily for us they did. They wouldn't pay our closing costs, and they wouldn't pay for the repairs that were required to be done before we moved in. That was okay to us because we got the house at a way lower price. It turned out to be a nightmare though. We found all of this out on Friday the 14th of March. We had to have all of the repairs done before the 25th. I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal to replace a sliding glass door. I was wrong it takes about a week and a half to have the installers to come out and measure it get the glass and install it, which would put us over our deadline. I called around for a week trying to find someone, and then our Realtor found someone that would come out and measure it correctly, and it turns out the door was a special order and would take longer to get in and would cost over a $1000 to order and install. I was sick to my stomach. I found this out on the 21st, and was in tears. I tryed calling our lender, she wasn't there. I tried calling our realtor, but he was out of town, and had left the name of one of his partners to get in contact with. I didn't want to call him because I didn't know him, luckily I had the number of one of the girls in his office that has been helping us so much. She is such a sweetheart and calmed me down. Her and our realtor's partner made it work for us. They were awesome, we found someone that would come out and just replace the glass for $250. Good price, better than over a $1000. The glass was replaced on Monday the 24th at 11:00. Our other repair that needed to be done was to sand and repaint the deck. We thought that would be simple as well. I was wrong again, well for part of it anyways. It started out good. We had borrowed my Brother in Laws pressure washer to get the old paint off of the deck. We started doing this on Thursday the 20th because that was the only date that we could start doing it. So Matt got soaked and was freezing while using the pressure washer to get the paint off. Doing this was a 2 day job. Saturday the 22nd was the day we had set to paint the deck. It started out okay with getting the areas taped with newspapers so we wouldn't get paint on the house. Then we were ready to use the paint sprayer that we again had borrowed from my brother in law. It wouldn't work. It wouldn't suck up the paint so we couldn't spray it. We messed with the thing for 45 minutes waisting precious time. We had to accept the fact it wasn't going to work and that we would have to paint it by hand. There were 3 of us: Matt, me, and my brother Quinn. It took us about 3-4 hrs to paint the deck. It was sunny, but windy so we were freezing the whole time. We got it done though which matters most. We got everything done at the last minute so we had to extend our closing date so it would give time for the appraiser to get out to the property to sign it off and get it back to the lender so they could prepare all of the paperwork for closing. It gets better though in the midst of all of this our car had major problems, so we were car less for a few days until we could borrow a car. We have to replace the timing belt, tires, air conditioner compressor, and the work we already had done was replace the air conditioner clutch and another part. Again I was sick to my stomach, but we're making it through it like we have been. I forgot to mention that I had my Sweet cousins husband come out and fix our drywall problem. He made it look so much better. Thank you Darci and Ryan!!! I tryed very hard to stay positive this month, but yes I had some major breakdowns, and hard to sleep nights. The important part is that we never quit praying, and having faith. Yes we were worried sick, and stressed out of our minds, but if it is meant to be it will happen. I love our Heavenly Father and Jesus for making this possible for us to raise our family in a home of our own. I'm so excited to start our new adventure!!! Wish us luck....=)
