The (Expensive but better) Herbal way of life

We decided to go the herbal route to try and help Matt to start feeling great again.  My Sister Kate is really into the herbal remedies and went and got a LSA Pro HHC Scan done on her.  I can see that it has helped her tremendously.  She has come a long ways since before she had the scan done.  My little Brother Quinn got it done a couple of months ago.  I saw him last week, and he looked like he was doing much better.  Kate recommended that we do this scan.  I trust my Sister's judgment, so we went and Matt got the scan done with Kris Ross who works at Herbs for Health in Pleasant Grove.
What is a LSA Pro HHC Scan? A LSA Pro HHC Scan tests the body for stress or balance reactions to tens of thousands of items. Based on these physiological reactions, a health practitioner obtains invaluable information about what may be adversely affecting a client’s health and what product or course of action could improve it.   Exclusive to Herbs for Health of Pleasant Grove – a bio survey process.  Using pre-programmed collections and library references organized into defined groups, quick assessments are created for each individual.  Diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, nutritional support and so on are all considerations sorted by biological preference unique to each individual to personalize every program.

Here are a couple of links that explain what it is and how it works.  They are a couple of minutes long each.  It's really interesting!

Matt went in feeling pretty crappy on June 11th.  He got his scan done and it was just amazing how it all works.  We found out that he was having some problems with his heart, kidneys, gallbladder even though it's not there anymore, bacteria issues, stress, emotional issues, sleep issues, bowel problems.  Just a lot of crap going on in his body.  There was more, but we are only focusing on about 5 of the major problems right now.
Matt's program to get him balanced goes like this:

Supplements: Catnip & Fennel, Evening Primerose, Chlorophyll, Trigger Immune, Kidney Activator, Velerian Root, and Peppermint.

He takes the Catnip and Fennel with breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, 10 drops each time.  He takes 2 Evening Primerose capsules at breakfast.  Drinks 2 oz. of Chlorophyll a day.  Takes 1 capsule of Trigger Immune at Breakfast, and Dinner.  Takes 2 Kidney Activator capsules at Breakfast.  Takes 2 Valerian Root capsules right before bed.  Takes 6 drops of peppermint in a empty gel capsule at Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner.

Catnip and Fennel liquid:
Is a combination of two time-honored botanicals that primarily support the digestive and nervous systems.
Chlorophyll Benefits:
• Helps promote the natural blood-cleansing functions of the body.
• Promotes strong immune response.
• Strengthens cells.

• Deodorizes the body, including the bowel.
Evening Primrose Oil Benefits:
• Provides the body with important fatty acids.
• Helps promote energy.
• May help the body maintain proper temperature.
• Strengthens body tissues.
• Supports the glandular and circulatory systems.
Kidney Activator Benefits:
•Promotes kidney function.
•May help clear retained water.
•Supports the urinary tract.
•May support joint health.
Trigger Immune Benefits:
•Helps guard against nutrient depletion.
•Fortifies the circulatory system.

•Nutritionally enhances the body's ability to respond to weakening forces.
 Valerian Root:
Valerian Root comes from the Latin valere, which means “to be in good health.” Records of valerian’s use go back more than 1,000 years. Modern herbalists use the root primarily to support special needs of the central nervous system. Valerian root aids in relaxing the body and providing gentle sleep support.
PEPPERMINT:
PATTERNS OF IMBALANCE: Dull or sluggish, especially mental lethargy; under-active metabolism which depletes mental forces

POSITIVE QUALITIES: Mindful and wakeful clarity, warm metabolism balanced with cool head forces

Definition: Peppermint imparts alert clarity and mental vibrancy. Those who need this remedy have a soul struggle between the lower and upper parts of their being, especially between the metabolic/digestive forces and the thinking/creative forces. In these cases, the life or metabolic forces overwhelm the consciousness with too much warmth, making the mental capacity dull and lethargic. Peppermint is at once cooling and warming. It cools down the lower organs, especially the liver, so that the consciousness can be freed for higher activity. It also stimulates the thinking forces so that they have a “digestive capacity” of a higher nature, making the thinking more lively, vital, and penetrating. Many people who need Peppermint have profound issues around eating and consciousness. They may crave the stimulation of food, only to find themselves sluggish and mentally incapacitated afterwards. It is as though two parts of the Self are warring for attention. Peppermint brings great healing and balancing energy, freeing the mind for higher thought, and helping the digestive, life forces work in their proper sphere.

Other parts of the program include going through emotional release, Simplify and reduce stress, No Soda, 100 % raw diet fruits and veggies only for 5 days, drink 1 gal of water each day, and GO TO A SACRED PLACE TO COMMUNE WITH GOD so in our case go to the Temple/Church more often.  Also to go off any pain medicine if he was able.  It just contributes to all of the problems going on.

Have you heard of Muscle testing/Kinesiology?  It's pretty interesting and I would love to learn more about it and how to do it and not question myself.  Here is a description on muscle testing:

Kinesiology: The Tool for Testing
Kinesiology is another word for muscle testing. Kinesiology is simple. Anybody can do it because it uses your electrical system and your muscles. If you are alive, you have these two things. I know that sounds smart-mouthed of me, but I’ve learned that sometimes people refuse to believe that anything can be so simple. So they create a mental block—only "sensitive types" can do this, or only women can do it. It’s just not true. Kinesiology happens to be one of those simple things in life just waiting around to be learned and used by everyone.
Even small children can learn to do kinesiology in about five minutes. It is mainly because it never occurred to them that they couldn’t do it. If I tell them they have an electrical system, they don’t argue with me about it; they just get on with the business of learning how to do simple testing. Actually, I do mean to intimidate you. Your first big hurdle will be whether or not you believe you have a viable electrical system that is capable of being tested. Here’s a good test. Place a hand mirror under your nose. If you see breath marks, you have a strong electrical system. (If you don’t see breath marks, call your local emergency rescue squad—you’re in trouble.) Now you can get on with learning how to use kinesiology!
If you’ve ever been to a chiropractor or holistic physician experienced in muscle testing, you’ve experienced kinesiology. The doctor tells you to stick out your arm and resist his pressure. It feels like he is trying to push your arm down after he has told you not to let him do it. Everything is going fine, and then all of a sudden he presses and your arm falls down like a floppy fish no matter how hard you try to keep it up. That is using kinesiology.
Simply stated, the body has within it and surrounding it an electrical network or grid. If anything impacts your electrical system that does not maintain or enhance your health and your body’s balance, your muscles, when having physical pressure applied, are unable to hold their strength. (Muscle power is directly linked to the balance of the electrical system.) In other words, if pressure is applied to an individual’s extended arm while his body’s electrical system is being adversely affected, the muscles will weaken and the arm will not be able to resist the pressure. The circuits of the electri-cal system are overloaded or have short-circuited, causing a weakening of that system. However, if pressure is applied while his electrical system is being positively affected, the circuits remain strong, balanced and capable of fully functioning throughout the body. The muscles will remain strong, the person will easily resist and the arm will hold its position.
This electrical/muscular relationship is a natural part of the human system. It is not mystical or magical. Kinesiology is the established method for reading the body’s balance through the balance of the electrical system at any given moment.
When working in a co-creative partnership, nature answers your yes/no questions by projecting a positive energy or a negative energy—whichever is appropriate—into the electrical circuit that you have created by your fingers especially for the kinesiology testing. The "yes" or "no" that nature projects registers in this one electrical connection and not throughout your entire electrical system. The special connection created by your fingers allows you to use the kinesiology technique without adversely impacting your electrical system or your body’s balance. Only one circuit is being used, and this circuit is artificially created by you for the testing and is not a part of the normal function of the electrical system throughout your body. The answer you are able to discern through the testing is from nature. It is not an answer that has been concocted by you.
If you have ever experienced muscle testing, you probably participated in the above-described, two-person operation. You provided the extended arm, and the other person provided the pressure. Although efficient, this can sometimes be cumbersome when you want to test something on your own. Arm pumpers have the nasty habit of disappearing right when you need them most.

Kinesiology Self-Testing Steps
1. THE CIRCUIT FINGERS. If you are right-handed: Place your left hand palm up. Connect the tip of your left thumb with the tip of the left little finger (not your index finger). If you are Circuit Fingersleft-handed: Place your right hand palm up. Connect the tip of your right thumb with the tip of your right little finger. By connecting your thumb and little finger, you have closed an electrical circuit in your hand, and it is this circuit you will use for testing.
Before going on, look at the position you have just formed with your hand. If your thumb is touching the tip of your index or first finger, laugh at yourself for not being able to follow directions, and change the position to touch the tip of the thumb with the tip of the little or fourth finger. Most likely this will not feel at all comfortable to you. If you are feeling a weird sense of awkwardness, you’ve got the first step of the test position! In time, the hand and fingers will adjust to being put in this position and it will feel fine.
Circuit fingers can touch tip to tip, finger pad to finger pad, or thumb resting on top of the little finger’s nail. Women with long nails need not impale themselves.
2. THE TEST FINGERS. To test the circuit (the means by which you will apply pressure to Test Fingersyourself), place the thumb and index finger of your other hand inside the circle you have created by connecting your thumb and little finger. The thumb and index finger should be right under your thumb and your little finger, touching them. Don’t try to make a circle with your test fingers. They are just placed inside the circuit fingers that do form a circle. It will look as if the circuit fingers are resting on the test fingers.
3. POSITIVE RESPONSE. Keeping this position, ask yourself a yes/no question in which you already know the answer to be yes. ("Is my name _____?") Once you’ve asked the Positive Responsequestion, press your circuit fingers together, keeping the tip-to-tip position. Using the same amount of pressure, try to pull apart the circuit fingers with your test fingers. Press the lower thumb against the upper thumb, and the lower index finger against the upper little finger.
The action of your test fingers will look like scissors separating as you apply pressure to your circuit fingers. The motion of the test fingers is horizontal. Don’t try to pull your test fingers vertically up through your circuit fingers. This action sometimes works but it is not as reliable as the horizontal scissors action.
The circuit position described in step 1 corresponds to the position you take when you stick your arm out for the physician. The testing position in step 2 is in place of the physician or other convenient arm pumper. After you ask the yes/no question and you press your circuit fingers tip-to-tip, that is equal to the doctor saying, "Resist my pressure." Your circuit fingers now correspond to your outstretched, stiffened arm. Trying to pull apart those fingers with your testing fingers is equal to the doctor pressing down on your arm.
If the answer to the question is positive (if your name is what you think it is!), you will not be able to easily push apart the circuit fingers. The electrical circuit will hold, your muscles will maintain their strength, and your circuit fingers will not separate. You will feel the strength in that circuit.
IMPORTANT: Be sure the amount of pressure holding the circuit fingers together is equal to the amount of your testing fingers pressing against them. Also, don’t use a pumping action in your test fingers when applying pressure to your circuit fingers. Use an equal, steady and continuous pressure.
Play with this a bit. Ask a few more yes/no questions that have positive answers. Now, I know it is going to seem that if you already know the answer to be "yes," you are probably "throwing" the test. That’s reasonable, but for the time being, until you get a feeling for what the positive response feels like, you’re going to need to deliberately ask yourself questions with positive answers.
While asking questions, if you are having trouble sensing the strength of the circuit, apply a little more pressure. Or consider that you may be applying too much pressure and pull back some. You don’t have to break or strain your fingers for this; just use enough pressure to make them feel alive, connected and alert.
4. NEGATIVE RESPONSE. Once you have a clear sense of the positive response, ask yourself a question that has a negative answer. Again press your circuit fingers together and, using Negative Responseequal pressure, press against the circuit fingers with the test fingers. This time the electrical circuit will break and the circuit fingers will weaken and separate. Because the electrical circuit is broken, the muscles in the circuit fingers do not have the power to easily hold the fingers together. In a positive state the electrical circuit holds, and the muscles have the power to keep the two fingers together.
How much your circuit fingers separate depends on your personal style. Some people’s fingers separate a lot. Other’s barely separate at all. Mine separate about a quarter of an inch. Some people’s fingers won’t separate at all, but they’ll definitely feel the fingers weaken when pressure is applied during a "no" answer. Give yourself time and let your personal style develop naturally.
Also, if you are having a little trouble feeling anything, do your testing with your forearms resting in your lap. This way you won’t be using your muscles to hold up your arms while trying to test.
Play with negative questions a bit, and then return to positive questions. Get a good feeling for the strength between your circuit fingers when your electrical system is balanced and the weakness when it is short-circuited or imbalanced. You can even ask yourself (your own system) for a positive response and then, after testing, ask for a negative response. ("Give me a positive response." Test. "Give me a negative response." Test.) You will feel the positive strength and the negative weakness. In the beginning, you may feel only a slight difference between the two. With practice, that difference will become more pronounced. For now, it is just a matter of trusting what you have learned; and practicing.
Don’t forget the overall concept behind kinesiology. What enhances our body, mind and soul makes us strong. Together, our body, mind and soul create an environment that, when balanced, is strong and solid. If something enters that environment and challenges the balance, the environment is weakened. That strength or weakness first registers in the electrical system, and it can be discerned through the muscle-testing technique;kinesiology.

We were with Kris for almost 2 hrs.  It's pretty extensive.  She muscle tested with her fingers to see what Matt's body needed hence all of the supplements, and how much of them to take, and the raw diet of course as well.  I was just so intrigued with the whole process.  I really want to get into it!  I told Kris that she could be like a lie detector.  She laughed but she said there are boundaries.  She told me that once her daughter told her some huge fib, and Kris thought she was lying and so she muscle tested to see, and of course she was lying.  Kris said that she felt awful she said that it wasn't her job to judge that it was between Heavenly Father and her daughter.  I thought that was awesome!  Kris is really a special lady, I think she is really close to the spirit.

Raw diet- When Matt heard that he had to be on a 100% raw diet he wasn't happy.  He likes his red meat.  Kris said he could do a protein powder not whey protein but plant protein powder.  She suggested doing lot's of smoothies, especially with Spinach in them.  Water, no milk.  She said do not hold back on anything have as much as you want.  I told Matt that I would do the 100% raw diet with him to help support and motivate him.  He seemed happy with that.  I just wanted to understand how he was feeling and going through it with him was a way I could.  Kris told us to call her in 5 days to see how things were going, to see what foods to incorporate back into his diet.  To call back in 1 week to see if he could lower any of his supplements or raise any of his supplements, or maybe even go off of any of his supplements.  Then to schedule a re scan in 6 weeks to see if his body was balanced.  So we left with all of Matt's supplements, and protein powder, feeling some hope.

When we got home my Mom let us borrow her Bosch for the blender attachment, since we didn't have one.  Green Smoothies became a big part of our lives!  So did Water, and Huge Salads with avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and salad dressing.  Matt was able to have salad dressing that helped tremendously...she did say it was better to have the oil kind, but simple ranch would be okay, just do the one with the least amount of sugar.  Matt couldn't have raw broccoli, or raw cauliflower either.  He could start having those lightly steamed after the 5th day.

I did the 100% raw diet with Matt for 8 days.  We couldn't get a hold of Kris to see what Matt could start incorporating into his diet.  I would have actually loved to keep going raw, but it is so expensive!  I felt so great with all of those fruits and veggies!  I thought Matt would start feeling better.  He was, but not really.  Keep in mind though that this is not an overnight fix, it takes time for your body to adjust.  Matt was still really constipated, and having pains going from the back of his back up into his shoulders and around his chest and abdomen.

I was so frustrated on June 15th when I woke up.  I cried to my Mom. She suggested maybe trying the Nikken Magnets and magnetic rollers.  I called and left a message to see at herbs for health for Kris to see if there was anything that Matt could take herbal wise.  Then went to my Mom's house to get the Nikken magnets.  Herbs for Health called back and got some info for me and said that they would call back and let us know what he could take.  I thought that going to the Temple would help in the mean time.  Matt wanted nothing to do with it, which I kind of got mad at.  I later apologized for being mean about it.  I could see his point who wants to go anywhere when you feel so crappy.  Anyways my Mom and even my friend/crossing partner said I should just go to the Temple by myself.  I was feeling pretty stressed out myself, I was starting to feel numb and pain in my left arm.  I didn't want to have a heart attack.  I told Matt that I was going to the Temple by myself.  He was okay to have the kids there with him so I could go.

So I left to go to the Temple, and I just cried the whole way there.  I was so frustrated, and angry that this was going on.  I got to the Jordan River Temple to find out that it was closed until June 20th for cleaning purposes so I had to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple instead.  I was kind of worried that I would have to wait forever to do Temple work.  I called Matt to let him know what was going on, and to see if he was okay with me being gone longer.  He said it was okay, he also said that he hadn't heard back from Kris yet.  Matt is a good Man, I knew he was hurting, but he knew that this needed to be done.  So I went into the Temple expecting to wait for a long time.  I didn't have to wait I got right in, and right out,  It was so nice, and I felt better!

I called Matt as soon as I got out, and he said that the receptionist from Herb's for health had called back and said that he could take something called Triple Relief.  He seemed down because he said Herb's for Health closes @ 5:30.  I told him that the one on 90th south and 1300 west probably wasn't closed.  I told him I was close to it, and that I would check and see.  He perked up when I said I would do that.  So I went and Lucky for us it wasn't closed.  I got Matt his Triple Relief and headed for home.

When I got home Matt looked awful.  He was hurting.  I made him a smoothie, and before I gave him the triple relief I wanted to know if he was heading to bed because they said to take it mid afternoon, and right before bed.  He said he was going to bed.  He took 2 triple relief and fell asleep.  The next morning he felt great!  We were so excited.  He came to watch the girls at gymnastics, it was good for him to get out of the house.  Everyone commented to him that is was nice to see him dressed and out!  We thought we were in the clear.
The next day Matt was going back to work.  He had called on Monday to tell his supervisor. that he would like to take it a day at a time to see how he felt, to see if he was ready to come to work.  Of course he missed Tuesday and Wednesday, and his supervisor had a fit about the whole thing.  Oh Gee whiz lady, we are so sorry to inconvenience you.  It drives me crazy!  Anyways Matt was able to go back to work on Thursday night June 16th.

I thought things were great until Matt came home Friday morning in absolute pain.  He said he felt fine up until Midnight and the pain kicked in and progressively got worse.  I hate to hear him grunt and moan.  I feel bad for him, and there is nothing I can do.  So he slept for a while and when he woke up he felt good again when he woke up.  That didn't last too long though he started to feel crappy.  I was worried that he would miss Madisynn's preschool graduation.  He didn't want to miss it so he came.  Matt had no choice either he had to go to work again.  We couldn't miss out on anymore income.  So he went.
I was hoping night 2 back to work would be a success. I thought my hopes were shattered when he came home and went into the kitchen and started to throw up. In my mind I thought oh no the nausea has come back.  After he was done I went out into the kitchen to see if he was ok, he said yep. Apparently he had the hiccups which made him throw up! Those were some Crazy strong hiccups if I do say so myself. He went right to sleep pain free, and is still sleeping. So what started out as a bad day yesterday ended in Night 2 a total SUCCESS! I thought A small light at the end of the tunnel was starting to show!

Saturday was the same process he felt fine when he woke up, and then started to feel crappy  by the end of the night.  He went to work again feeling crappy when he came home on Sunday which happened to be Father's day.  He didn't go to Church.  I was so frustrated and worried.  I had a breakdown in front of our friend Dan, and the Bishop.  I came home to Matt  feeling better, that only lasted for a few hrs.  Sunday night  and Monday was the worst days out of this whole nightmare that we have been going through.  Matt had ran out of his lortab and the triple relief wasn't working.  We couldn't get a hold of anyone to see if he could take the triple relief more often.

Matt only slept like an hr. Sunday night.  I slept probably 3.  He was in the bathroom most of the time.  Back and forth from the living room to our bedroom.  He was moaning.  He couldn't get comfortable.  He said he was calling pioneer hospital to see if they would give him a refill on his lortab.  I was kind of upset because we were trying to get him off of pain medicine. He came back into the bedroom after to let me know what they said.  He told me that they would refill it just 1 more time, and that if he was still having pain after he was out of it that they wouldn't fill it anymore and that they wanted him to come back in to be checked.  I was scared and frustrated because I didn't want to go back to crappy pioneer hospital, but I didn't want to go anywhere else either.

I went and picked up matt's prescription thinking that it was going to be and in and out process.  Matt had called to see if the prescription had been called in and it was.  They hadn't even started filling it yet.  I was so mad, and trying not to show it.  I sat for 20 min and tried to hide my tears of fear, frustration, and anger.  I couldn't stop.  Sheesh.....

When I got the medicine I went home gave some to Matt, who told me my sister had called.  So I called her back, and just cried to her.  She told me not to be upset with Kris for her not getting back to us.  She said she is so busy during the day that sometimes she never gets a break.  She also said she is not a miracle worker.  I agreed.  She said to keep calling until we got her, and tell her what's going on and to see what Matt could start incorporating into his diet.  To ask her about the Triple relief.  I told my sister that I couldn't go on like this, that I couldn't do everything for everyone anymore. and that I was frustrated because I couldn't make Matt feel better.  It was out of my hands, and I was completely exhausted.

I love my sister she gave me words of advice and encouragement that helped me to focus and be a bit stronger.  When I hung up with her, I went and talked to Matt, and then I called Herb's for Health to see if I could get a hold of Kris.  It was a prayer answered when Kris was the one who picked up.  I ended up crying during our conversation.  I let her know what had been going on the past few days, She said boy that Matthew is a tough one.  She said that it sounded like he really needed some emotional release therapy, and me too.  She said that sometimes the body can't heal because of emotional reasons.  She asked if we would like to schedule some emotional release therapy?  She said she could do it over the phone, but it was better for the first time to be in person.  So we scheduled an appointment for 3:30 that afternoon.  She told us that Matt could take the triple relief every hr. if he needed too.  It's what she took when she had her gallbladder removed.  She also told us that Matt could start incorporating oatmeal into his diet for awhile.

So I got stuff done that needed to be done, and we headed out to Pleasant Grove to do some emotional release therapy.  Matt went in by himself, while I waited with the girls outside.  We came prepared with there scooters, and a book for me so we wouldn't be board.  Madisynn ended up needing to go to the bathroom so we went inside.  while she was going I looked around the store, and then started asking the receptionist questions about different herbs.  A lot of my questions were about constipation, and nausea.  She suggested something called Digestzen.
It sounded like some amazing stuff this oil blend.  Here is a little bit about what Digestzen is:

The receptionist told me that once she had eaten something and started to feel yucky, so she immediately  got the digestzen and did a few drops directly into her mouth and drank some water.  She said she felt better a few hrs. later.  She also said she rubs it on her daughters tummy all the time for constipation, and that it really helps.  She then said here go ahead and look at this book while you wait. It was a book for all of the herbal remedies  I took it outside and started to look at it, It was really cool, and interesting to see all the different types of herbal remedies!  Shortly after I started reading it Matt came out with Kris.  They had made a lot of progress.  They were in there for an hr.  She was very impressed with how well Matt had done!  Kris muscle tested to see when the emotional issues started happening which led to all of Matt's stomach problems like acid reflex.  I hope that makes sense.  Matt tried to explain how emotional release works.  It's really in depth and hard to explain.  He said it's something that you have to go through to understand how it works.  Which I am planning on doing in the near future. We went to my Sister's house to drop some things off, and to visit for awhile.  I told Matt that when he was ready to leave we would leave.  He was fine when we got there, so no big deal.  Then about a half hr. after being there he asks where his pain medicine is.  I tell him that it is in the car, he goes and gets some and came back in.  I ask him if he is wanting to go home.  He says that he is okay.  I knew he wasn't okay he was just trying to please me by staying so I could visit with my Sister.  Good man he is, and I could have taken advantage of that, but I didn't.  That is cruel!  I said we can go Matt, it really is okay.  You don't look good, and my sister said the same thing.  So I hugged my sister, goodbye and got in the car with the rest of the family, and we went home. The rest of the week was off and on with the pain. Friday we went to the Temple.  It was so nice to be able to get right in and do Temple work.  We were in and out within a half hr.  I had asked Matt the day before if he was ready to try the DigestZen.  He was, and so that was the plan after the Temple to go and get some of that, and get some more Kidney Activator, and Trigger immune because he was about to run out of them.  Then headed back home to pick up our kiddos.  So nice to have made a deal with a friend that would watch our kiddos so that we could go to the Temple, and we would watch their kiddos so they could go to the Temple.  Thanks, Scott and Terri!  I know we needed to go to the Temple, especially Matt.  Those blessings from going to the Temple are so wonderful didn't want to miss out on anymore of them! Also earlier in the week Matt had asked me if I could pick up another home enema kit.  Matt was still having issues with his bowels.  I think that he did 1 of the enemas the Tuesday before the Temple, and it helped.  Then he was back to square 1 of being constipated.  Sunday June 26th we went to our friend's baby blessing.  I wasn't sure Matt was going to make it, but he did.  By the end of it though he was hurting.  He wanted to go to the get together afterwards, but he wasn't fooling me.  He forgot his triple relief, and he was starting to grunt.  He would have been miserable, and he wouldn't really be able to eat anything they had.  Just the fruits and veggies and oatmeal if they had it!  Who serves oatmeal at Baby blessing luncheon?  Also hard to be around a huge group of people eating yummy things.  We gave our congrats, and went home. When we got home Matt did the last enema.  Since then he has been able to have regular bowel movement!  Hooray!  I don't think I have ever been so excited about poop before.  Not being able to poop was the trigger to Matt's pain.  Poor guy. I feel bad for anyone who has gone through severe constipation.  It's such a blessing to be able to have normal bowel movements, be grateful if you have them!  I never want to go through what Matt went through.....ever. The light at the end of the tunnel is bigger now. Matt hasn't had anymore problems since the 26th.  He has not taken anymore lortab, and he is still taking his triple relief sparingly.  The digestZen has been helping, and I know that all of the other supplements he has been taking are helping as well.  Matt is on a 75% raw diet which means he can now have brothy soups without the noodles.  Chicken is ok.  Chicken-sausage(from costco = yummy!) Blackbean burgers, chicken burgers, turkey burgers, Eggs, Tuna fish, or fish in general.  No red meat, and no flour.  Gluten free products. I'm so grateful that Matt is feeling better  the poor guy lost 20 lbs. from this surgery.  Not a fun way to lose it though.  He looks so much better, and is happier.  We just need to continue trying to reduce stress from our lives.  Is that even possible???? This week we start fresh, Matt will be able to help me in the yard again, and around the house again, and he will be able to walk his patrols at work again!  We didn't want to risk anything by having him overdue it and have him in more pain.  Since Mid May it really has been HELL! I'm so glad we made it through this. What have we learned from this?  I really don't know, but I do know that it definitely brought Matt and I closer together.  It's taught us how to be healthier, not that we were eating crappy.  We will continue having our green smoothies everyday, and eating tons of fruit and veggies.  We want to start eating more fish products as well.  Bountiful Baskets is our new best friend.  If you haven't ever ordered from them look into it for your produce.  Here is the website if you are interested: http://www.bountifulbaskets.org/ I'm taking Matt out for Sushi real soon, and my Mom and Rex even said at our family get together on July 4th that they would take Matt out for a nice big juicy stake when he can have it again.  I guess we'll see on that one!  Being Healthy is so important, and I'm glad I am and that my family will be too.  Thank you all for your love and support, your friendship, your prayers, your service in behalf of our family.  We love you so much!  Thank you for reading this extremely long post!  I hope you learned from it!  =)
