Facebook memory lane

I thought it would be fun to take a trip down Facebook memory lane.  I wanted to see the status updates I have posted over the last 5 years.  I wanted to see how negative and how positive I have been.  I'm trying to be a more positive person.  I know that by being positive I will feel better.  My life is what I make it to be.  I want it to be positive.

25 things

Matt has had a rough go of it at work for a long time.  His supervisor doesn't like him.  The truckers don't like him.  They don't like him, because he is pretty much one of the only ones that does his job right.  Matt is a very hard worker.  He does things by the book, and is very thorough.  Matt's supervisor really upsets me.  She has been giving her personal cell phone number to all of the truckers telling them to call her if there are any problems with her officers.  Matt and the other security officers don't wear name badges so they won't get harassed by the truckers.  All of the truckers know Matt's name because of his supervisor Helen.  Helen has written Matt up recently for writing things down in his DAR that aren't important.  They are important and Matt could be fired if he doesn't write them down.

This last week Matt was doing security at a different site in Draper.  It was considered a special site because it's a site that never has security   An employee was being fired so they were just taking precautions.  The employee was fired and didn't give any trouble.  Matt had a peaceful week.  Then Thursday night Matt got an email from his boss asking if he could meet with him on Monday.  He also said that the special site he was at was very happy with his work, and to keep it up.  Matt replied telling him thanks, and that he could meet at 2 on Monday.

Friday his boss emails him back and says Sounds great.  Also, I got you covered at Costco for tonight and tomorrow night so I guess you can just enjoy your weekend.  Thank you for your great work on the special.  Matt wasn't supposed to work Friday night at his regular site.  He was supposed to work Saturday night like he always does.  He realized that if he wasn't working Saturday that he would only be getting 32 hrs..  Matt text his boss, and his boss said that he couldn't talk about it over the phone that it had to be in person.  Then his boss sends him a text saying that one of the truck drivers filed a complaint against Matt.  This was the second one, and Matt was upset.

Matt was trying to think positive and I was too.  He went in today to talk to his boss.  close to the time that Matt was meeting with his boss i happened to go downstairs.  I didn't hear my phone ring, but felt like I should check it.  I had missed a call, and had a voice mail from Matt waiting for me.  I felt that it wasn't going to be a message that I didn't want to hear.  I dialed it anyone, and then Matt called while I was doing that.  I beeped over to him.  He told me that he was no longer employed with Guardsmark.

My stomach sunk.  He told me that his boss told him that because he had already received a second chance that he had to be removed from the site.  The only thing that Matt's boss could do was to have Matt be a rover/filler.  He would maybe get 20 hours a week. with no set pay.  Each site is different.  Matt told his boss that he couldn't support his family on that kind of work.  His boss said that he couldn't do anything else.  Matt stood up and felt that he should quit, and so he did. His boss was sorry to see Matt go.  He had told Matt that he was one of his best workers.  He also said that Helen Matt's supervisor was the most uptight woman he has ever met.  I wish that Matt had said more to his boss about the things Helen does.  Matt's not like that, and it's probably a good thing that he didn't get into it more.

I didn't yell at Matt, or make him feel bad.  I was calm.  He told me he was on his way home to get all of his uniforms to take back to his boss.  I decided to do my workout after I hung up with him.  I had a good cry while I was doing it.  Matt came home while I was working out.  He really didn't say much to me.  He gathered his stuff angrily.  He didn't leave happy.  I was worried about him.  After I got ready I sent him a text telling him that I loved him no matter what.  It felt good to say that.

I went to my crossing early and text my friend Allison.  She is the one who does energy work.  I asked her how my energy was vibrating.  She replied back asking if I was feeling okay today.  I told her that I was feeling fine up until I heard from Matt.  I told her what happened, and that I was scared.  She told me that I was vibrating at a 9.  That is very good.  She said to take some deep breaths.  She said that we were going to come through this just fine.  She said fear is a conscious choice, so is faith so pull out your gratitude journal and write 25 things I'm grateful for it would help keep me vibrating high.

Allison also checked to see what Matt was vibrating at.  He was vibrating at a 5.  She gave him the vibration of balance and got him vibrating at a 10.  She told me that he didn't need anything else energetically right now, but by me staying calm and optimistic would help a ton.  She said to let him know that I believed in him and his ability to take care of  his family.  I had already planned on telling him that when I saw him.  She told me to keep deep breathing as well.  I was already doing that.  When I got home and was talking to Matt I told him that I believed in him, and his ability to take care of his family.  He sucked that in.  I know that he liked that I said that.  I told him that I was handling this better than I thought I would.  He agreed.  He thought that I was going to be a huge mess.  All of the affirmations that I have been saying have helped me.  I'm thinking more positive.  It's great!

We are going to be fine.  I know it!  Matt quitting is the best thing.  A door opened he took it.  We will be led to where we are supposed to be.  I know that my angels, and Matt's angels, are orchestrating all the details for Matt's job.  We just have to act, and it will happen.  We need to listen to the spirit, and our intuition.  This is the best thing for our family.  I am going to finish this post with my 25 things I'm grateful for today.  In no particular order here it is:

1. I'm thankful for my Heavenly Father.  He loves and understands me.
2.  I'm thankful for my job.  I have been not liking it for a long time, and have been wanting to quit.  I'm so glad I haven't, and that we have the money flow.
3.  I'm thankful that Matt gets disability.  Not thankful that he has a bad back.  Thankful for that extra money.
4.  I'm thankful that Matt came right home and started looking for work.  He could have sat and did nothing. I'm so thankful that he didn't do that.
5.  I'm thankful I'm alive.  Life is great!
6.  I'm thankful that we have a good amount of money in our savings account.  We can get by.
7.  I'm thankful that I was able to stay warm in 3 degree weather.  I didn't complain once.
8.  I'm thankful that I was able to get out of the area that I was parked at at my crossing.  Lot's of snow from the plow, and had to park in it so I wasn't in the middle of the road.  Glad I didn't get stuck.
9.  Thankful that I remained calm about things, and that I could show and tell my husband that I loved him, and supported him.
10.  I'm thankful for my angels.  I know that they love and support me.  They are anxious to help me in my causes.  I know that what is important to me is important to them.  I ask for their help and know that I'm heard and receive the help that I desire.
11.  I'm thankful for my Savior.  He took on my pains and sufferings so I wouldn't have too.  He loves me and I love him.  I'm thankful for his example.
12.  I'm thankful that I'm not freaking out about money.  I'm thankful that I have a healthier relationship with it.  I'm worthy to receive money.  It's safe for me to have money.  It's okay with God for me to have money.
13.  I'm thankful for my crossing partner for cheering me up.
14.  I'm thankful for Allison and her energy healing that she does.  I'm in such a better place because of her.  I know she has the spirit guiding her, and that she listens.  She is so good at this, and she has only begun.  She is amazing!  I'm thankful that our angels brought us together and that we could be crossing partners for 2 years, and be close friends after.
15.  I'm thankful that my girls are obedient.  They got up happy, got ready quickly, finished doing everything and were ready to leave at 8.  They ate their lunch, cleaned up after themselves, brought home papers, and homework.  They did their chores, and homework.  They earned all of their beads today.
16.  I'm thankful for our friends Dan and Becca for asking me if I could take care of their dog Siah.  She is a Saint Bernard, and still a puppy.  They had somewhere to go, and they can't leave her kenneled for more than 10 hrs. or else they would have a huge mess.  They needed someone to let her outside and roam for awhile, eat, and drink.  Put her back in her kennel.  I'm thankful that I said yes.  They needed me to come over and get a key, and see the instructions.  They are awesome friends, and make me laugh.  I needed that tonight.  I'm thankful for laughter.
17.  I'm thankful that I'm healthy.  I'm thankful that I can exercise, and that I stuck it out through a hard workout.
18.  I'm thankful for my van.  I'm feeling more comfortable with it.  I feel safe.
19.  I'm thankful that I'm always divinely guided and protected.
20.  I'm thankful that Matt quit, and that things are going to change for the better.  I'm thankful that he doesn't have to put up with the drama anymore.
21.  I'm thankful that we only had to cross 10 kids this morning, and that the kids didn't doddle to long after school.
22.  I'm thankful that I'm becoming a more positive person.  I have greater feelings knowing that i'm being optimistic not pessimistic.
23.  I'm thankful that instructions were clear and easy to recall after talking to Dan and Becca about tomorrow.
24.  I'm thankful that I could wear comfortable clothes today, and that I could be home.
25.  I'm thankful to know that something good is going to happen.  I just know it is.  I can't wait to see what it is, and where it's going to show up!

1st day of school 2012

The first day of school was chaotic, but went well.  I was nervous about how everything would go.  I had to be to my crossing, so I couldn't take the girls.  I'm so thankful that Matt was home.  He was able to get the girls to where they were supposed to be going.  He took their pictures before going.  It was so cute to see them walking down to my crossing.  They were so excited to be going to school together.  I'm thankful that the day went well, and that everything worked out.

McKenzie and Madisynn.  3rd grade, and 1st grade:

Crazy Hair day November 2012

They loved their crazy hair!  I'm so glad it didn't take long, and that they weren't picky about it.  They had fun and that's what matters the most!

Halloween 2012

Halloween was really good this year.  We had awesome weather!  The girls didn't even have to wear jackets until the last part of the night.  Our ward had a Trunk or Treat so we took the girls to that first.  McKenzie only went around to all of the cars 1 time, Madisynn went 2 times..  After the trunk or treat we took the girls trick or treating to all of Matt's Aunts and Uncle's houses.  Then I took them around our neighborhood to the houses we knew.  They had way too much candy, but the girls sure had a blast!

McKenzie dressed up as a cute little devil:

Maddie dressed up like Rapunzel:

Matt and I made the wig.  Matt did most of the work.  He is amazing!:

30 days of thanks November 2012 edition

Day1: I have a lot of dear ones in my life that are suffering from some sort of medical issue. They are suffering, and I feel so bad for them. I count my blessings, i'm glad that I am healthy.
I'm thankful that I have a healthy functional body.

Day 2:  I see so many people around me struggling financially. What a scary stressful situation to be in. I'm so very thankful that we are doing okay financially. I'm thankful that we have always had food to put on the table. I'm thankful that we have always been able to pay our bills. I'm thankful that we have been able to have the money to take care of major repairs. We have been blessed, and I'm so very thankful!

Day 3:  There are so many families that bicker, fight, and totally hate each other. They will do nothing to help each other, It is so sad.
I'm thankful that I have 2 families (Matt's, and mine) that love each other, and actually say the words I love you. That talk to each other. Spend time with each other. Are willing to help no matter what. Families should have each other's back no matter what. I love my families, i'm thankful that I come from a good one! To my family, I got your back!

Day 4:  I'm thankful for a generous, kind, loving, forgiving Heavenly Father, and Savior Jesus Christ. They love me for who I am, and they continue to bless me every day!

Day 5:  Today I'm thankful for my 2 sweet little girls. They woke up happy, did the things they were supposed to do. Got along with each other. I didn't have to raise my voice. It's nice! Kenzie and Maddie are very obedient, and helpful! I love them!

Day 6:  Today I'm thankful for cars. I'm thankful that we have a car. I really don't think I could have handled living in the pioneer times. Horse and buggy, or walking everywhere. Having to put major planning into a trip into town, or further away. I'm thankful that I can just get into my car and leave when I want, go where I want. I'm thankful that the car has heat and air conditioning, and other accessories to make it comfortable. I'm especially thankful today to have a car because Matt and I are going on a date to the Temple. We are blessed that we can drive 20 minutes to get there!

Day 7:  Today I'm thankful for my Belgian waffle maker. I love my waffle maker, it makes me happy! Made some most delicious pumpkin waffles for dinner tonight. Yum Yum! They really hit the spot!

Day 8:  Today I'm thankful for instruction manuals. I was trying to fold the seats down in my van. I was on the right track, but couldn't get those blasted seats to fold forward. I went to my handy instruction manual in the glove compartment and looked it up. Yep I was on the right track, just wasn't pulling the strap in the back bottom of the seat hard enough. Anyways thank you instruction manual you saved me from having to wake up the hubby to ask him to do it for me! Also it feels great to know that I figured it out and did it by myself!

Day 9:  I'm thankful to have a nice warm snow suit (my dad's old pair good for memories) I'm thankful for a nice warm coat to cross in. I'm thankful for the warm gloves, hat, and boots as well. I'm thankful to have all of these things to keep me warm and dry. It definitely makes for a better crossing!

Day 10:  Today I'm thankful for the ability to stay warm. I'm thankful to have a nice shelter over my head. I'm thankful to have blankets to keep me warm. I'm thankful to have a working furnace to keep us warm. It was so nice to sleep in this morning, and to wake up to a nice warm house!

Day 11:  Today I'm thankful for babies/children. Today I got to go to my cousin's baby blessing for her son. He is such a cutie! I love the sweet innocence of children! I'm thankful to have that reminder each day with my own kids, my friends kids, my families kids, my primary kids. It makes me feel so good inside when kids want to be around me because they like me. =)

Day 12:  Today I'm thankful for all of the Veterans. Thank you for serving our country! I'm especially thankful for my hubby. He loves our country, and loved serving in the military. I know he misses it, and if he could he would be back in serving our country.

Day 13:  I'm thankful for dentists. As much as I dislike what they do to me, i'm thankful that they can make my teeth clean. I'm thankful that they can make my mouth feel better. I'm thankful that I had no cavities from my appointment yesterday.

Day 14:  Today I'm thankful for cleaning products. I"m thankful for rags, scrubbers, all the modern inventions to make cleaning easier, and faster.

Day 15:  Tuesday I had a not so fun experience, and didn't want to post about it, but it goes with my day of thanks today. So Tuesday was our family dentist appointment. It was at 6 p.m. The girls had gymnastics that day as well. Gym gets done at 5:30. We had to hurry back home to make our appointment. Matt went before us to secure our spot, and let them know that we were on our way. So I'm driving
not recklessly or negligently.
I get to the dental clinic, i'm in the left hand turn lane. Nobody is coming so I slow down to about 10 mph to turn into the entrance. All of a sudden I run over something. It freaked me out. I pulled into my parking space that wasn't to far away. I get out to see what I ran over. It was a median divider. You know the dividers that make it so you have to turn right only, but it makes it difficult to turn left into it. That divider was as high as a sidewalk curb, but had no curvy edge to it. When I saw what I had hit, I got sick to my stomach. I was driving our new van.
I go back to the van to see if anything was damaged. I couldn't see anything. I had matt check it out when he got done with his cleaning. He said he couldn't see anything. I was hoping everything was fine still, and that I would have no issues on the way home. I pull out onto 8400 west get up to about 40 mph, and then a light comes on on the dash. I hear this grinding. I slow down, and it stops. I turn into an empty parking lot to check things out. I couldn't see anything. So I pull out and I turn onto 3500 south, and get up to 40 mph again. The same thing happens. I pull into another parking lot to check things out. I see nothing.
I call matt, I start to drive slower the rest of the way home. I told him that I didn't see any kind of sign, or reflector indicating that there was a barrier. It was dark, I couldn't see anything. Anyways I didn't hear the sound again, but when I got home a few minutes later I had Matt take it out to see if he could see anything, or hear anything. He comes back in a few minutes later, and says the tire is out of alignment, and is bulged. I was a wreck the rest of the night. Just sick to my stomach, feeling stupid, angry at myself, anxious, panicky. Not good feelings.
So after my crossing yesterday morning I text my good friend who is starting to do energy work. I told her what happened, and how I was feeling. I asked her what does my body or my energy need me to do to feel better. It was about an hour or so before I heard back from her. This is what she told me: Let go of the trauma, forgive yourself, live in the energy of joy. I raised your overall vibration from 2 to 10. Deep breaths, release the negative energy of the experience into the universe. Be grateful for your angels that help and support you. After reading her text I took deep breaths for a few minutes, and thought about what she said. She asked me if I felt a little lighter. I did feel lighter.

So here is my 15th day of thanks:
I'm thankful to have a friend who does energy work, who can help me feel better. I'm thankful to have those guardian angels around me. I know that the incident with the van could have been much worse, I could have hit someone, or rolled the van. I'm thankful that I can forgive myself. I'm thankful that I can take deep breaths and release that negative energy. I'm thankful that the van is fixed, and well again. I'm thankful for my sweet husband that took care of everything for me. I'm thankful that I'm alive!

Day 16:  Today I'm grateful for my Mom! I'm thankful for her job. I'm thankful that she has put in a good word for me to be able to do at home work for jobs they don't want to do on their assembly line. I'm thankful that they have another job for me to do, and that it will make up for the money we had to spend on fixing the van. Thank you law of attraction, I said I wanted to make some extra money, and it's on it's way!

Day 17: I'm thankful for pie!!!

Day 18:  Today I'm thankful that I get to spend time with my Mom, my brother Quinn, and my little family. I Love family time! Love talking to my bro, and watching movies with him. He laughs so loud and hard, it makes it even more funny. I love me some good entertainment!

Day 19:  Today I'm thankful for cute stylish clothes. Today I was feeling low about myself. Didn't want to get ready for the day, but knew I had to. I was rummaging through my closet, and in the back I found some cute stylish jackets that I haven't worn yet. I forgot I had them. I tried them on, looked in the mirror, and really liked how they looked on me! It was a nice pick me up!

Day 20:  Today I'm thankful for breaks. The kids are out of school the rest of the week for the Thanksgiving holiday. Wahoo! I'm so excited for this break, it's definitely needed!

Day 21:  Today I'm thankful for play dates, and Therapy. My friend Allison and her daughter Peytan came to play.  I love spending time with my buddy.  She always makes me feel better.  I'm thankful for every therapy that can make you feel better. I'm thankful for therapists that can listen, and give you advice. I'm thankful for physical therapists that can help your body heal. Matt is going through physical therapy for his back. It's been going well! I'm thankful for energy therapy. Allison is becoming certified in e
nergy work, has been working with me. Today wasn't just a play date, it was an energy session too.  It was an awesome session, with lot's of tears. I feel better, tired, and drained, but way better than what I have been feeling. If you are at all interested in doing a session with her live or on the phone let me know and I will give you info. She is amazing!

Day 22:
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for EVERYTHING! Enjoy your holiday being with those you love. I know I will!

Day 23:  Today I wasn't feeling to great. I'm thankful that it was a day where I could lounge around and do absolutely nothing! Sometimes we need a day like that.

Day 24:  Today I'm thankful for Haircuts.  I was starting to feel the other lady coming out of me.  Who might that be?  Sideburns lady.  When she starts to emerge, I know that I better get to my hairdresser quick.  Hate feeling blah like that.  It was nice to get my haircut by a good hairdresser, and feel clean and refreshed.  Nice to have side burns lady go away!

Day 25:  Today I'm thankful for Matt's side of the family.  We had a post Thanksgiving dinner with his siblings that live here.  It's always nice to see them.  Need to see them more often!  Wish our schedules would coordinate better.

Day 26:  Today I'm thankful that I care about people's well being.  I'm thankful that I could make a hard decision today.  I'm thankful for priesthood blessings.  Today was a really hard day.  I had to put a stop to something that was going on.  If I didn't I know that things were just going to get worse.  This is the short version of the story:  I have a friend.  Her daughter was in Madisynn's kindergarten class, and they were best friends.  Back in March they moved 2 hours away.  I did a lot in helping them move.  They moved back during the summer and had a lot happen.  They needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks until their house opened up.  I felt bad, I wanted to offer our home.  Needed to talk to Matt first.  He agreed, and so I offered our home for a couple of weeks.  I was happy to help.  After the 2 weeks I got people to come help move them.  Had to get everything out of storage, and then into their home.  The storage shed was a nightmare.  A major rodent problem.  Mice droppings, and Urine everywhere.  It was sad.  Anyways after getting them moved in things started to escalate.  I was giving them rides everywhere, spending a lot of time with them.  I was happy to help, and spend time with them.  Then it started to infringe on my time with my family.  It was consuming me, and giving me anxiety.  I was very overwhelmed.  I needed to set healthy boundaries.  I felt like I was being used, and also a crutch for them.  I took the crutch away.  Things weren't going to change or move forward unless I did.  Now that I took the crutch away I feel more at peace, and happy that I can focus on my family and other stuff that needed catching up on.  Thankful that I could help someone in need.  I really went above and beyond.  Did more than most people would have.  I feel blessed that I could.  I also feel like they were blessed to have me and my family in there lives.  Don't know where we stand with them now.  I don't like people being mad at me, but things needed to change.  I hope and pray that they will become more independent, and have things work out in their best interest.

Day 27:  I'm thankful for gymnastics.  It is so fun and rewarding to see how much Kenzie and Maddie love it!  They are doing remarkable.  I love that!

Day 28:  I'm thankful for the festival of trees.  The festival of trees is amazing!  For 42 years, the Festival of Trees has been a "gift of love" for children at Primary Children"s.  The festival is organized by a volunteer board of 85 individuals who enlist the time and talents from thousands of individuals, organizations, businesses, and families throughout Utah.  Since 1971, more than $23 million has been raised for children at Primary Children's.  Every penny raised is used to help children and families at Primary Children's Hospital.
McKenzie's activity days group was going for one of their activities.  I was asked to help carpool some of the girls, and help chaperon.  I was happy to help.  At the festival of trees we were able to see some pretty amazing decorated trees, and some incredible homemade gingerbread houses.  We weren't able to see everything they had, because it was so packed full of people, and couldn't stay too late.  The girls had a fun time.

Day 29:  When I got home from the festival of trees, I wasn't feeling to good.  I got sick during the night.  Stomach flu problems.  Today I am thankful that I was able to get a hold of some crossing guard substitutes and have them work for me.  I'm thankful that Kenzie and Maddie could get themselves ready.  I was so useless and weak.  I'm thankful that I could sleep off and on for most of the day.  I'm thankful for Matt and the girls for taking care of me.

Day 30:  Today I'm thankful for Eye doctors.  Maddie had an eye appointment.  We got good news at the appointment.  Maddie's eyes have hit a plateau.  They doctor told us to stop using the eye drops to dilate her right eye pupil.  We have been doing eye drops for a year and a half, so nice to have the permission to stop.  Her eyesight is better.  Still needs glasses.  He wants to see us back in 4 months.  Better 4 than the 2 months we have been doing!  So excited!
