Galaxy Academy of Gymnastics Fall Fun Meet

Today was McKenzie, and Madisynn's first Gymnastics meet.  We signed the girls up the beginning of September, for the shooting stars beginner class.  They just started their second session, which means they have had 9 classes so far.  It's amazing how much they learn, and how much stronger , and better they get each week.  This gymnastics meet isn't an actual competition.  Everyone gets the same medal and a certificate.  On the certificate the judges put down something good that they did on each event.  I like that it's just a fun meet, with no competition.  It takes a lot of the pressure away, and it's just a fun way to show those you love and care about what things you can do.

  The girls got to be in the same group for each event.  I'm so so so glad! It made things less complicated for us.  Kenzie and Maddie's group started on the beam.  Kenzie was the first one to go, and then Maddie.

To finish off the fun meet they had everyone meet in the smaller gym where the uneven bars were to do the awards ceremony.  They had all of the girls sit in front of the stage.  They called them up 1 by 1 to hang the medal around their necks, read 1 great thing on that they did on one of the 4 events.  Then they had the girls salute, so that parents could get pictures of them.

The girls did such an awesome job!  We are so proud of them.  Looking forward to their next fun meet!  Gymnastics have been so good for these two girls.  They have had so much fun, and they look forward to going each week.  I hope they want to do this for a long time.
