Cookies and Primary...........

Last Wednesday I made sugar cookie dough, and let it sit in the fridge overnight. It took me a long time to cut out the sugar cookie dough and bake them. The girls had a lot of fun helping me! I let them cool down and decided that we would frost and decorate them the following day. It was a much better experience decorating with the girls this time. than last Christmas. I frosted the cookies and Matt and the girls decorated them. McKenzie covered the cookies with candy and Madisynn just pretty much ate the candy! We gave her one cookie to decorate and she would decorate it and then eat the candy off of it. It was so cute! I wish I would have taken a picture, but I didn't even think about it. Oh well. Anyways I think they decorated about 50 cookies for our family, a couple of neighbors, my Mom, and my brother. Matt didn't decorate that many, but he made his really artistic. Here is a picture of the ones that I liked the best of the ones he decorated.
I didn't realize what he was doing until he showed me the finished product. I just laughed! he cut up the candy corns for the teeth, and then he put red sprinkles and red food coloring together to put on the teeth. Lovely I know. He had fun which is what I wanted. Here is a picture of the girls with the 2 cookies when I thought to get the camera:

After I took their picture I put a movie on for the girls, and while Matt slept I decorated the remaining 50 cookies for the primary. I wanted them all to be exactly the same so no one would complain. It was just easier to do it that way. I didn't have to be all creative. I was making the cookies for the aftermath of our primary program. Here is the finished product:Don't they look yummy???

So i mentioned that it was our primary program this past Sunday. I was in charge of making clouds with all of the kids names on them. It took forever to type and print them up. At least they got done though. Here is the finished product of the clouds:I thought they turned out cute! Matt made the cloud design for me, good man. So you are probably thinking what is the purpose of the clouds. Well the primary president wrote the program. She wanted to have all of the meaning of the kids names. Purpose of it all is that they are children of God and he knows them by name, and that they are special. She had drawn a huge picture of Jesus with his arms open and a little child running to him. We put the clouds over it. During the program I was in charge of taking the names off when they did there part. I have been really stressed and worried about this program. The kids didn't know the songs, they didn't know there parts, and Saturdays practice was a total joke, and a waste of time. I don't think I slept very well on Saturday night.

Sunday I was really amazed. Our prayers were definitely answered! The kids sang the songs so well, they did awesome on there parts. We did have a few problems with the microphone on the parts where the brothers and sisters of each family came up to do the meaning of their names and that they were born of goodly parents. I was in charge of that part as well. It was very stressful! I was so relieved when the last family sat down. We had some other problems with a few kids, but I won't go into it. I'm just kind of disappointed with what they were doing. Hopefully it won't happen next year.

So I thought the rest of the day would be a breeze in church. No not really. It was so irreverent. Another total joke. It's like this every week. The kids totally walk all over us. K so I have been the primary secretary for 6 months with all the rest of them. We are all new. We should have things figured out, but we don't. The president takes everything on her shoulders. She doesn't delegate very good. She hasn't really involved the other 2 just me. So we watched the old Johnny Lingo movie which lasted like 20 min. I didn't even know what was planned for the rest of the time. The primary president had an awards ceremony for the primary program, and then had a game. It wasn't planned well, was all i can say there. Kids were wandering around, not paying attention, turned in there chairs doing there own things. It was ridiculous! By the end I was telling myself these kids don't deserve the cookies that I made for them. Not one bit. The teachers weren't doing anything to quiet them down. Nothing. I was mad. When the primary president ended the game she went to the mic and said you guys were wonderful and did such a great job! No way... yeah they did great in the program, but not in primary. She then started to say my name and that I had cookies for them. I then just opened my mouth and said no. No I'm not giving the cookies to them. She then says oh i guess Sister Layton doesn't think you were good enough to get the cookies. You know what I really don't care if the buck got passed to me. I'm sick and tired of these kids thinking that they can do whatever they want whenever they want. It's about time someone said no to them. I really don't care if they hate me or don't like me. Things need to change in our primary. I hope they do. It was one of the hardest things for me to say no, but I did it and it felt great. I have dispersed the cookies to other people and family and more to us. It wasn't a waste of time for me to make all of those cookies. It's tradition to do Halloween cookies every year. They were yummy!

Scary

So I love blogging! It is fun to see what you are all up to! I love to leave comments to let you know that I care. Sorry that I haven't done so this past week, I haven't been myself. I had some pretty major anxiety attacks this past week or so. It was really scary. I have never felt like that before. My heart was doing this weird thing, that is really hard to explain. It's still doing it, but barely. I felt crappy..etc. etc. etc. I went to the dr. on Tuesday to see what was going on. They did all my vitals, they were normal. He listened to my heart, he said it was normal. He put me back on my Depression/anxiety medicine. I didn't want to go back on it, but I knew that I needed to. I had had enough.
So what put me into anxiety depression mode? A lot. General conference really got to me. It was so good, but we need to be prepared. I don't feel prepared and it really scares me. Matt working graves is really hard on me. I feel like a single parent, and I just couldn't handle it anymore. All I wanted to do was sit infront of the computer and do nothing else. I didn't want to be a mother, I know that's sad, but that is how i felt. I was angry. Oh yeah not to mention the fact that i was having pregnancy symptoms. I was like great. Not now. I'm so not ready for that yet. I know that stress can cause those kinds of symptoms, so I had also mentioned that to my doc. He wants me to take a pregnancy test in the next couple of weeks. Well now I'm pretty sure that I'm not preggo because i'm not late. I will take one next week just to make sure. Also I'm not feeling the pregnancy symptoms anymore.
I have been off of my happy pills for a little over a month. I started noticing a couple of weeks ago that I was angry, I would erupt at every little thing. I was a monster to Matt and my kids. I feel so bad. I had no patience whatsoever. Now that I'm back on them oh man what a difference! I feel so much better, I have more patience, and I'm so much nicer! For those of you that are against the happy pills, don't be. They are a great help, and you shouldn't be ashamed to use them. These past couple of weeks I have just been so exhausted from the anxiety that I have been going to bed so much earlier than I have been. What a difference that has made too! Go figure! So I'm going to continue to get good sleep, and not spend my night and days on the computer. I have done some fun things these past couple of weeks that have helped me to not think about what was going on with my heart and everything else, and I will slowly post what I have done. Thank you all so much for checking my blog, and caring about me! I love you all!

Radomness

1. I was pretty much bald up until I was 3. So when I finally had enough hair at 3 years old my sister and her friend decided to play barber shop. They sat me down in a little chair gave me a book, and went to town on my hair. My Mom was so Mad.....I don't remember any of this at all. My Mom saved the hair that they cut in a envelope.

2. Once when we went on a camping trip with a few neighbors up to the Unitas, my Dad got this crazy idea of Hiking up the mountain to an ice glacier. Well the good family that we are we had to follow him. It was just us, none of the neighbors came along. So it all started out great and then it got a little scary. It started getting very steep, with loose rocks everywhere. Needless to say we made it to the glacier. Pretty cool! We played in the snow, and then it was time to go, We decided to slide down the glacier. It was fun until my older brother Chris went out of control and couldn't stop. He slid into a big rock and cut up his leg. My Dad decided to try another way down the mountain because the loose rocks were so hard to climb up. Can you imagine going down the loose rocks with no equipment? Eventually a long time later my Dad did find another way down. We made it safe. We all thought we were going to have the rescue patrol come and rescue us off the mountain. Thanks to my Dad he always had some crazy ideas and I'm glad we tried.

3. I grind my teeth. I had no idea that I did this until Matt told me last year. I asked him how long this had been going on for and he said a couple years now. Nice it would have been nice to know right away so it could be fixed! I still have to yet to get a teeth guard while I sleep.

4. I have a tongue thrust. I had to go to therapy to learn how to swallow correctly. It was a pain! I'm sorry to say I've screwed my teeth up even more because I have the tongue thrust back. It's been all that stinking stress I've been through.

5. My own dog bit my butt, and my own Dad kicked me in the shin instead of the dog! I had gone running with one of our female beagles Roxy. Well Jazzy got a little jealous. When I got back from my run the 2 girls got in a dog fight and I was in the middle of it. I tried to get out, but I was a little to late when one of them ( can't remember which one) bit me on my behind. I screamed so loud, that my Dad ran to door opened it and went to kick the dog out of the way and missed kicking me in the shin instead. I swear I had a bruise for a year! I was bleeding pretty good so my Mom took me to the hospital to see if I needed stitches. Luckily I didn't, but it was so embarrassing having to show off my bum and say a dog bit my bum.

6. I used to drive a Buick la saber. Someone decided to scratch a Nazi sign into our car. From then on that car was known as the Nazi mobile. Some of the boys in the neighborhood would tease me and salute me like a Nazi. lovely!

7. Growing up we had the most ugliest green car that my mom would drive. I remember having to play Dukes of hazard because the doors didn't work so we had to use the windows.

I tagged 8 oh well, I'm Living on the Edge!!! =)

Grandpa

So one of matt's old missionary compainions sent this email to us. I thought it was hilarious! I hope you do too! =)

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office. The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney. The auditor said, 'Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, Which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable.' I'm a great gambler, and I can prove it,' says Grandpa. 'How about a demonstration?' The auditor thinks for a moment and said, 'Okay. Go ahead.' Grandpa says, 'I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.' The auditor thinks a moment and says, 'It's a bet.' Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor's jaw drops. Grandpa says, 'Now, I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.' Now the auditor can tell Grandpa isn't blind, so he takes the bet. Grandpa removes his den tures and bites his good eye. The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous. 'Want to go double or nothing?' Grandpa asks 'I'll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.' The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again. Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor's desk. The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss int o a huge win. But Grandpa's own attorney moans and puts his head in his hands. 'Are you okay?' the auditor asks. 'Not really,' says the attorney. 'This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you'd be happy about it!'

General Conference Weekend

This weekend was a fun weekend for the most part! Friday night doesn't really mean anything to me anymore now that Matt's schedule has changed. When Friday morning used to come I would be so thrilled. Now it's just another day because Matt works Friday nights. Well I was feeling a little down, and bummed and I wanted to do something. I wanted to do something fun. I didn't want to end up watching another movie. What I wanted to do was play a fun game with the girls. Teach them a fun game. Well that never happened, but I had been talking to my new sister in law Tallie online earlier before evening time. Well before it got to late to decide what to do. She had asked what we were doing that night. I told her I wasn't sure, and then asked if she had any ideas. She suggested a movie, and also making cookies with the girls. I thought what a great idea! I haven't made cookies with the girls in ages.

So here is what our plan was: Have Matt go with the kiddos to the Red box and get the new Barbie and the diamond castle movie, come home eat, and then make cookies with the girls, and watch the movie. All went well until I made the cookies. I had some cookie dough and then started to feel yucky. The girls were fine, they had the same cookie dough as I did. So I was kind of miserable through most of the movie. Then I started to feel good again. I stayed up late as usual, went to bed, and when Matt got home in the morning he woke me up not on purpose, but because I heard him come in. I started to feel yucky again. I spent most of the early morning hrs. going back and forth from bed to the bathroom. The girls got up at there usual time, and I was to tired to get up. I told them to go downstairs and play quietly. I'm surprised they actually listened to me, and played quietly. Usually there is a lot of fighting, and squealing. So I slept until 9:00 or so, and then I was feeling better. We had cereal for breakfast,, came downstairs to do the whole computer thing. Then I remembered that it was conference weekend at about 9:55. I wanted to get the girls ready before watching. So McKenzie dressed herself, I got Madisynn dressed, then I had to brush the teeth and do the hair. I missed the first little bit, so I missed all of the announcements. I heard later from my brother in law that they announced a new temple being built in Rome Italy. That's really exciting!
I wanted the girls to watch at least 1 session to get them used to watching conference. I bribed them with eating cookies and watching their barbie movie again. The deal was they had to hold still and be quiet. It went well they cuddled up with me on the couch, and Madisynn fell asleep for the 2nd hr. I think they more than enough deserved to get their reward! So I got them their cookie and let them watch the movie while I got myself ready for the day. After I was done getting ready, I started to feel yucky again. After the kiddos movie was done I made lunch for them and they ate very well. Halfway through there meal Matt had gotten up and was getting ready for the day. He got the girls cleaned up from lunch and I think he put another movie on for them. I don't remember, I was just feeling yucky and conference had started so I lay ed down on the couch to watch. I ended up falling asleep for a lot of it. Whoops!
I was so lazy for the rest of the day and night. I didn't feel like doing anything, but vegging out. I had to make dinner though, so I did that while Matt went to the priesthood session. We ate without Matt, because he didn't get home until 8:30 or so. So we ate, and I realized that I still had to go to the store to get food for Sunday. We were having Matt's brother and sister and their families over for the day. So when Matt got home I talked to him for a little bit to see how the session went, and then told him I needed to go shopping for food. I asked him to give the girls baths if I wasn't back by the time he was done eating. I didn't think I would be gone for very long, and I wasn't. He was just a fast eater, and he had the girls all ready for bed by the time I got home from the store. Sweet! We had scripture and prayer, and put the girls to bed. Then Matt and I watched baby mama, and went to bed.
Then about an hr. after I went to bed I sat up in bed because i thought I was going to throw up. I ran to the bathroom. I didn't throw up, but I was all shaky because of the thought of it. I went back to bed, and I fell asleep pretty fast. The next thing I know is I hear someone go into the bathroom. For some reason I thought it was McKenzie needing to go the bathroom and that she might need help. She has never gotten up at 6:00 in the morning to go potty, so I was just checking. I walk to the bathroom and what you know it's Matt. I thought he was still in bed. Silly me. He couldn't sleep and had been awake since 4:30. He had just been lying there listening to me snore and grind my teeth. I asked him why he was up, and he said well it's because I'm usually awake at these times. Couldn't argue with that. He said he was going to go watch a movie on t.v. So he did, and then I tried to go back to sleep, but I started to feel yucky yet again. So I was in the bathroom again, and then I decided to go drink something fizzy to see if that would help, and also suck on a vitamin C cough drop. I went back to bed with the cough drop in my cheek. I fell asleep.
Matt let me sleep. When his movie was over he made German pancakes. The girls got up somewhere during this time frame. They came and woke me up to come eat breakfast. Matt asked me how I was feeling and I said better. The pancakes looked yummy, but I could only eat one. That stunk, I love German pancakes. So I went and brushed my teeth, and Matt cleared the table. Then he hurried to get ready so he could return the movies we rented to the red box. We weren't sure when his brother Josh and family would be here. So that's why we were hurrying, so we would be ready. Matt had barely gotten ready when they showed up. It was nice to have them come! When Matt and Josh left I talked with Brenda until they Matt and josh got back, then I hurried to get ready before conference started. I finished just in time.
We watched the first session as best as we could, because you know how it is when you have 4 kids in the ages of 2-4 together. So I started to feel even better throughout the day so that was good! Matt's sister Rachael and her family showed up during the 2nd session. So we tried to listen the best we could again because we just added 2 more kids in the age range of 2-4. I'm just going to have to get the ensign and read the talks again. It was a good conference from what I heard!
After conference was over I started to make dinner for everyone. Shaina your wild rice soup was a hit yet again!!! And your bread sticks too! Thank you Rachael and Jason for the Yummy fruit and fruit dip, that was a hit too! While making dinner the others watched Sahara starring Matthew Maconahottie. Rachael, Brenda, and Jason were in the kitchen mostly talking with me. That was nice of them! =) Thanks guys! So we ate, and then finished that movie, talked. Then we put in another movie which is one of my absolute favorites.
One of my favorite cousins Nichole would come spend a couple of weeks every summer at our house. One of our favorite things to do was rent funny movies. Well we had gone to rent some movies one night and she picks out better off dead and says you have to see this movie it is so funny. You will die laughing! So we get it, and head home and Nichole said she was too tired to watch the movie. I watched it by myself and laughed my head off! Of course I kept her awake, with all of the loud laughter, so I don't know why she didn't come watch it with me. Why Nichole?!!! LOL So it was always a tradition to watch the movie over and over again when Nichole would come stay the 2 weeks. One time we even reenacted the Q-tip scene. Here are the pictures of the reenactment: Oh and bear with me on the layout, I had just started scrap booking, and was trying something different. Oh and we should have put Q-tips in our mouth to be precise. Whoops! Here ya go:
So we laughed so hard. Matt's family had never seen it, so that made it even funner to watch! I wish that Matt's bother Jacob and wife Tally, and Matt's parents could have been here as well. You guys were all missed. We love you! Oh yeah we also had yummy dessert cheesecake to eat while watching the movie. Thanks Josh and Brenda! Eventually the day had to end, and we all had to get back on track. So we cleaned up, and everyone left. Matt was so tired, that he went to bed along with the kiddos shortly after. I stayed up late yet again. Hey at least I was feeling completely better! So that was our conference weekend.
Yesterday I was so tired of sitting down and being lazy I cleaned my house, and got things accomplished. It felt great to get moving again, and to feel in tip top shape again!!! =)
