The past week and a half haven't been to pleasant for me because I think I had a gallbladder attack. It hit me December 21, 2011. I'm apologizing in advance for the details of how I felt throughout this post. On the 21st, while we were out running our errands my stomach started to cramp up, then it felt like it needed to growl. I felt like I was starving, I needed to pass gas, but I couldn't. Then I started to feel nauseous, and this really uncomfortable pain started to move to my right side in my back. I wasn't able to pass gas very easily, or have a decent bowel movement. All of this happened and intensified within 3 days.
I got a hold of My Brother Quinn who has done 8 of these cleanses. He brought most of the ingredients that I would need to do a Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse. This cleanse is very extensive. I started the Cleanse on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas to me! One of the good things about starting this cleanse is that I didn't totally gorge myself with goodies, and junk from Christmas eve, Christmas day, Christmas break to New years. Here is what is involved int he cleanse.
This cleanse is form the book The Green Body Cleanse by Dr. Edward F. Group III. It is a 6 day cleanse. During the first 4 days you want to eat liver and gallbladder supporting fruits 4 breakfast. These include Watermelon, papaya, kiwi, plums, pears, apples, cherries, figs, and grapefruit. For Lunch and dinner you eat fresh vegetables, homemade vegetable soups, or salads containing liver and gallbladder detoxifying vegetables such as artichoke, asparagus, carrots, beets, broccoli, cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, garlic, spinach, romaine lettuce, onions, and cauliflower. Snacks should consist of organic raw seeds or nuts such as sunflower seeds, walnuts, brazil nuts, or almonds.
During this cleanse you completely avoid coffee, milk, alcohol, bottled juices, or soft drinks. They will decrease the effectiveness of the cleanse and add more toxins to the body. Drink only distilled water in addition to your cleansing mixture during the day. No processed foods. When doing this cleanse you really want to begin your cleanse on Tuesday or Wednesday so on Day 5 you will be home in a relaxing setting near a bathroom.
Day 1
Make your cleanse Formula: Add two ounces(the whole bottle) of Livatrex and 2 tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to 1 gallon of organic apple juice, distilled water. Shake and refrigerate. You will be drinking this formula for the next 4 days. ( I didn't have the Livatrex. Quinn said not to worry about it, so I didn't use it.) During the day drink four 8 ounce glasses of your cleanse formula between meals. I started drinking my formula at 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, and 5:30. You want to make sure you drink your mixture 1 hour before or after your meals.
Before bed: Take 4 capsules of Oxy-Powder and 3 capsuled of Latero-Flora. I didn't have the Latero-Flora, Quinn said not to worry about it. The Latero-Flora just helps balance the probiotic bacteria in the intestinal tract to assist in detoxification. The Oxy-Powder can cause watery stools, make sure a bathroom is nearby. If the stools are liquid it is not diarrhea but the by-product of turning the solid compacted fecal matter in the intestinal tract into a liquid or gas. Sorry for the descriptive details.
Day 2
Continue to drink four 8 ounce glasses of your cleanse formula between meals. Before bed Take 6 capsules of Oxy-Powder and 3 capsules of Latero-Flora
Day 3
Continue to drink four 8 ounce glasses of your cleanse formula between meals. 1 hr before or after. Before bed take 6 capsules of Oxy-Powder and 3 capsules of Latero-Flora
Day 4
Continue to drink four 8 ounce glasses of your cleanse formula between meals. 1 hr. before or after. Before bed take 6 capsules of Oxy-Powder and 3 capsules of Latero-Flora.
Day 5 Flush day
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eat a healthy breakfast of organic fresh fruit. Liver supporting fruits include watermelon, papaya, kiwi, plums, cherries, figs, and grapefruit. Choose only one of the fruits above and eat as much as you like between 8 and 10 a.m. Do not mix fruits! If you cannot find fresh fruits, substitute with organic frozen fruit. Watermelon is recommended due to it's high glutathione content. Start preparing your Liver/Gallbladder Soup for lunch
12 pm. - Lunch
Organic Liver/Gallbladder Soup
1 organic Beet- chopped
2 organic Carrots- Chopped
10 organic Garlic cloves- minced
1/2 Organic onion- Chopped
1 Teaspoon Organic Himalayan Sea Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Organic Turmeric
1/2 Teaspoon Organic Oregano
You can add artichoke, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower if you want.
If you are not hungry and feel that you can fast through lunch drink as, much pure distilled water as you can. For every 32 ounces of water you drink during the day, add 2 teaspoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.
2 p.m.: Mid-Afternoon Snack
This will be the last meal of the day. Choose one of the following options:
Snack (Option1): Organic Avocados, Organic Lime or Lemon, and Sea Salt. Eat 3 organic avocados. Season with sea salt and fresh lime or lemon juice to taste. Avocados help the body produce glutathione, which is necessary for the liver to detoxify harmful toxins. Avocados have indicated improved liver health when eating them regularly.
Snack (Option 2): Eat 6-8 ounces of raw organic walnuts. Walnuts contain the amino acid arginine, which is necessary to help the liver detoxify ammonia. Walnuts are also high in glutathione and omega-3 fatty acids which support normal liver detoxification. Make sure you chew the nuts until they are liquefied before swallowing.
Snack (Option 2-Water Meal): If your are not hungry or you feel that you can fast through the afternoon, drink as much distilled water as you can. For every 32 ounces of water you drink during the day, add 2 teaspoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.
5 p.m. Epsom Salt
Mix one and a half lever Tablespoons of Epsom salt in 8 ounces of warm, purified water. Drink it as fast as you can. It is advisable to be near a bathroom when drinking the Epsom salt as some people experience liquid stools within 20 to 30 minutes after ingestion.
7 pm: Epsom Salt
Mix one and a half level tablespoon of Epsom salt in 8 ounces of warm, purified water. Drink it as fast as you can. It is advisable to be near a bathroom when drinking the Epsom salt as some people experience liquid stools within 20 to 30 minutes after ingestion.
9 pm to 10 pm: Olive Oil/Juice
Drink 6 ounces of organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. A samll amount (2 tablespoons) of freshly squeezed orange, grapefruit, or lemon juice may be added to improve the taste. Immediately after drinking the oil, go to bed and lie on your right side with your knees drawn up to your stomach for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, you can stretch out and go to sleep. If you experience cramping, walk around for ten minutes or so and then go back to bed. You may also feel nauseated during the night. This is due to the release of stored toxins from the gallbladder and liver. This is normal and a sign the Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse is working.
If you feel the need to vomit, do so as this will help release toxins. If you vomit, this is a sure sign your body is extremely toxic and you should consider repeating the Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse after a five day break. Do not take any other supplements on this night.
Day 6- The day after the Liver / Gallbladder Flush
Upon waking in the morning, immediately take 4 capsules of Oxy-Powder. This will help your intestinal tract and body flush the stones released from the liver and gallbladder during the night. For breakfast, eat only fruit. For lunch eat the remaining portion of your Liver and Gallbladder Soup. For dinner eat a light healthy meal such as a salad.
Congratulations! You have just completed your first Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse. Stones should appear in your bowel movements for the next one to two days.
Doctors Note: The best results come with repetition. You will just be scratching the surface of years of accumulated toxins with only 1 cleanse. It is recommended to repeat the cleanse 3 times in a row with a break of 3 to 10 days between each session. For someone experiencing a healing crisis, you might want to wait 7 to 10 days ( or however long your natural healthcare practitioner recommends) between flushes.
The first 4 days were really not that hard for me. In the morning I would wake up drink my formula at 8:30 wait 1 hr. and then eat a banana, apple, and an orange. Wait 1 hr. half 1 avacado. Drink my formula at 11:30 wait 1 hr. have a few handfuls of slivered almonds. Drink my formula at 2:30 wait 1 hr. and then have some more almonds. or have nothing. Drink my formula at 5:30 wait 1 hr. and have spinach, romaine lettuce, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and cucumbers. I would also have a protein shake. Mix 1 scoop of Protien raw vegan protein powder with 8 ounces of water.
Day 5 was the hardest day of all. In the morning I ate 3 grapefruits. That was the easy part. I am not a big fan of beets, and the smell of them made me nauseous. I choked down half of the soup. I love Avocados so I thought it would be no big deal to eat 3 of them. It was really hard. I started to feel nauseous after 1 and a half. I choked it down though. The hardest part was drinking the Epsom salt. I wanted to throw up while drinking it. It was terrible. My stomach instantly started to cramp up. I seriously had to psych myself up to drink it the 2nd time. again I almost lost it while drinking it. I was dreading drinking the olive oil. I didn't add any orange, or lemon juice to it. I just drank it. It didn't taste terrible, it just felt awful going down. It's like it sticks to your insides as it goes down. Yuck! It was the hardest thing to just lie on my right sight with my knees drawn up to my stomach for 30 min.
All through the night I wanted to throw up. I passed a bunch of stones during the night. They are nasty looking buggers. Some of mine were about as big as a quarter. They float and they kind of look like grease spots. In the morning I woke up feeling terrible. I had a headache, and my heart was just a pounding. It was awful. I passed a bunch more stones. I felt better throughout the day. The day after I felt good again. I still passed a few stones as well. All I can think about now is how in the world did Quinn do 8 cleanses. He is crazy, but he has definitely cleaned his system. I have only scratched the surface, do I do this 2 more times. I really have to get my head wrapped around it.
At our Kotter Christmas party my Aunt Rhonda was telling us about her gallbladder attacks. She had some pretty serious ones and didn't want to have surgery. She found an alternative that is helping her. She hasn't had an attack in years. She is drinking that Tahitian Noni Juice. Quinn and I are going to go in together with Rhonda and get some. She only drinks it when she feels something going on with her stomach. I hope it will do the same thing for me. Anyways I'm so glad that I feel better. I hope that my Billy Reuben counts are normal when I get my blood drawn again at the end of the month. I just want to be healthy and feel good! Thank you so much for reading!
