So this morning I was pulled out of a deep peaceful sleep by the ringing of the phone. I instantly knew that it was Matt by looking at the time on the alarm clock, which said 7 A.M. As I answered I was hoping for good news, but no my hopes were shattered by him telling me the car wouldn't start. Lovely.... I didn't get mad, I was actually pretty calm. It wasn't Matt's fault the car wouldn't start. It was a dead battery. We should have taken the car in a couple of weeks ago because it was having a hard time starting up. We both thought it was the cold that was making the car not want to start up, but actually I think I was the one in denial otherwise I would have brought it up to Matt. I just didn't want to face anymore car problems.
Anyways Matt was able to find someone at work to help him jump start the car. Thank goodness it started up. Matt drove to the Auto zone that is just a couple of blocks away from us and saw that they were about to open. He turned the car off, and tried turning it on again, but it wouldn't start. So he waited for about a half hr. and they changed the battery. I can't believe how expensive car batteries are! It cost us $97.75 total out the door. I'm grateful that it didn't cost anymore than that. I'm also thankful that we got payed today, so that we didn't have to pull from our savings. The car starts up wonderfully now, and I'm grateful for that! I'm grateful that Matt wasn't hurt, and he is so wonderful to take it to be fixed so I wouldn't have too. Yeah so our day didn't start out so swell, but we will have a good rest of the day, as I hope you do as well. =) Think positive!

I hate cars!! Well, they're great when they work. I hope your day gets better too!
Hey, my name is Chrystal Wilcox (previously Brewer)So you don't know me. But once upon a time I lived across the street from the Layton Family for years. Rachel was my best and only friend freshman year. Matt and Rachel both made a huge positive impacts on a really stressful part of my life. So my current best friend happened upon your blog while looking at a mutual friend of yours blog. Anyway. I really enjoyed seeing where things have gone, it has been like ten years or so since I talked to them. I searched your block for info on their lives. It had no idea that Matts parents are in Illinois. I read your post about Jacob giving you a Hollywood Video card wrapped up tight like a man in an Nut House jump suit. It made me laugh to see that Jacob hasn't changed at all in his scence of humor.
Anyway if you wouldn't mind passing along my blog address to them, I would love to hear from them. If you and Matt are interested in checking it out parts of it require permission and if you go to the contact spot and leave your email I will make it so you can access it. And please pass this along to Rachel especially I would love to get her email and catch up. I couldn't find much info about her through your blog, it looks like she hasn't crossed over to the blogger world yet. Your family looks wonderful, you have very pretty girls. It really was great to happen upon your blog. www.funwithwilcox.blogspot.com
1 more thing I have to say that chest Matt made for the girls is nothing short of amazing.
Sorry I know this is the third comment and you may think this is crazy but I had to tell you the story real quick. I had a friend (Alyssia Riply) call me, that I havn't talk to for about two years, she now lives in Nauvoo. She says she the Laytons are in her ward and that Jacob just got married and on and on...crazy that she called TODAY, after I had just found your blog. So weird, maybe for a reason, I don't know. Maybe it was to totally just make me say "what are the chances". Or maybe the Lord just wanted me to say "hi" and I have no idea why...so in case it is the latter reason. "Hi!"
I use to say I wish we still used a horse and buggy but with my luck I'd get he sick horse! Thanks for the info. on Matts MEB, I don't think they will do that to us but you never know... How is his back? Ryan is doing good just ready to move on I'm sick of waiting on the Military. I'm glad that you guys are doing good I hope that everything moves in the direction you want it to go!
