Guess who???

So the primary is having a get to know your teacher activity on the 17th of January. They want all the primary teachers to bring a baby picture of themselves so the kids can guess. Fun!!! I don't know how well the sunbeams will do, but they might have fun with it. I thought it would be fun to share a baby picture of Matt and I. Matt is so skinny and I'm a chunky monkey!!!

A memory from the summer

While we were living with my Mom at her house this Summer along with my Sister and her family we had lot's of fun. There was this one day that my nephew Kaleb decided to get a box, blanket, and I think there was a pillow involved. He set the blanket and the pillow on the inside with the blanket going over the edges. He put Madisynn in the box and started caravaning madisynn around. He started singing Hail to the princess Madisynn!!! One of his little brothers Jack and his sister Dalice heard the commotion and came to see what he was doing. They joined in parading around banging pots with spoons and singing hail to the princess Madisynn! Then McKenzie and Sammy Kaleb's youngest brother heard and came to join in on the fun. It was a good day. I love it when Kaleb and Dalice are around because Mckenzie and Madisynn just love them to pieces, and follow them around. They don't seem to mind, and they keep them entertained very well!!! Nephews and Neices are great, and I love all of mine!=)

Nauvoo, and Family Pictures

This past July we had the opportunity to go visit Matt's parents, and little brother who live in Illinois. It was a big family reunion for us all because we haven't all been together for a few years. It was really exciting to go! It was good for the girls to see their other grandparents. Matt's parents live about 20 minutes from Nauvoo, so we got to go to Nauvoo! I have always wanted to go and visit Nauvoo. It was neat to see the Mississippi river. you drive right along it as you're driving to Nauvoo. It is a very wide river. I thought it was exciting!

While we were there we had a busy week of events. We got our family photo, and whole family photo. I'm glad we were able to do this, but it was such a pain in the butt because the kids were not cooperating at all. It's amazing that we got a shot with everyone looking at the camera looking happy. On our individual family photo it was all we could do to keep Madisynn awake. She kind of looks like she is out of it in the picture.

We were able to go to the Nauvoo temple. It was a very spiritual experience. The temple is so beautiful and unique. We had the opportunity to go up into the bell tower of temple because Matt's grandpa is in the temple presidency. Going up into the bell tower was an experience I will never forget. The view is spectacular!!! I wish that I could have brought my camera along just to be able to capture it.

We got to visit the Carthage jail. I wish I could remember more about it, but Madisynn wasn't behaving too well at the time we were in the jail cell, and the room where the martyrdom took place. I would have gone out of my mind if I was a prisoner there. The Jail cell was little, dark, and dreary. The stairs leading up to the bedroom are so steep, I was afraid I would misplace my footing and fall down the stairs. It was neat to be able to see it! We also got to see the rest of historic Nauvoo. We went to the blacksmith shop for a tour, and at the end of the tour they give you prairy rocks. I've always thought they were so neat, and now I have one of my own. For those of you who don't know what prairy rocks are they are neat looking nails bent into a ring shape. The pioneers used them for wedding rings.

Matt's parents, and grandparents are into this place called the adventurezone. They wanted to take us all there and have a day of it. It was a lot of fun!!! We did the go carts, video games, toys, pizza, and the playzone. The playzone was really neat. They had an area for the little little kids to play in and an area for bigger kids. The playzone area for the big kids was pretty neat, we were able to climb throught it and go down the fun slide. It was quite the workout!!! It was fun to watch the kids go through it too.

The last thing we did on this trip was go to the Nauvoo paegent. It was a neat experience. We were up close, the girls were good, and I got to listen. I felt the spitit strong while we were there. I'm so glad we were able to go and visit Matt's family. I hope that we will be able to get there again. When we do, I want to visit all the church historic sites on the way there of course!!!

I'm a fork, I mean dork!!!

Ok last night my Grandma calls me. I'm glad she did, but we were about ready to have scripture and prayers with our girls when she called. I talked to her for a few minutes, and then asked her if I could call her back after we were finished. Of course she said that would be fine, so I hung up and had scripture and prayer with the girls and Matt. After we were done, I pick up my cell phone and go into the call retrieval area and pick a number. When I hear the person's voice I say in a happy voice Hey Grandma I'm done!!! The person that I thought was my grandma says umm no, this is Sarah. I felt so dorky and stupid. It was 9:30 at night and I call the person that I go visit teach. I had called her earlier because I called to let her know that I was bringing her dinner at a certain time. She had just had foot surgury, and needed help. Anyways Sarah then proceeds to say it's ok we were up, and by the way your dinner was really great. That made me feel better, but I still felt so stupid because I hardly know her. I've only talked to her a couple of times. She is very nice though. I just assumed that the top number was my grandmas number. They both have area code of 435. I really need to get them both into my contact list on my cell phone. lesson learned, I'm doing that tomarrow!!! I'm such a dork, and at least I'm able to laugh at myself =)

Shoes, Shoes, and more Shoes!!!

I don't know what is up with my girls, they are totally obsessed with shoes. I think Madisynn is more obsessed than McKenzie, though Mckenzie freaked out the first time we took her into a payless shoe store. She just went absolutely nuts because she had never seen so many shoes, and she wanted to have them all!!! If my girls see any shoes lying around they are fair game. They put them on and run away. Thanks to Auntie Brittnie, she knew what was best when she got a set of 6 princess shoes for Mckenzie for Christmas a couple of years ago. Mckenzie absolutely loves them. Madisynn probably loves them more then McKenzie. She carries them by the armfull. When we first moved into this house for some reason both of them would fall down the stairs when walking with the shoes on. I don't know if the carpet was just really slippery. They had no problem walking up and down the stairs at my parent's house. Because they were falling and hurting themselves I took the shoes away. They didn't like that very much, but they soon forgot. I gave them back for Christmas, because we had the dressup chest that matt made for them for Christmas. They both have been walking around in the princess shoes without having any problems falling down the stairs. I really don't know what the problem was!!! It's really cute Madisynn is fineally able to put 2 princess shoes on her feet, and walk around. She absolutely loves it!!! I just love my 2 little princesses. I just wish that I could find the picures I took of McKenzie and princess shoes. So I guess this picture will have to do, because I think she looks like a princess!

Sun beam teachers

last week I recieved a call from the primary president. She started talking about a calling that I never had extended to me. It kind of freaked me out. We had gone to tithing settlement back in November. The bishop wanted to get to know us a little bit better, so he's just asking us all of these questions. Then he starts asking us what kind of callings we had had in our old wards. So Matt and I told him. He asked us about nursury. I told him pretty much no way right now. I love kids, but I wasn't ready to deal with any more of them. He was like well how about sunbeams. I didn't really answer, and neither did matt. We never said yes to it, he never extended it to us, but he still wrote our names down next to the sunbeams. We thought we were safe. The day after the primary president called me, the 2 counselors in the bishopbrick asked us to meet with them after relief society/priesthood. I was like great.... I don't want to do this, I can't do this. I just want to be able to go to relief society. Well we went to meet with them. They apologized to us, they thought the bishop had extended the calling to us. Then they proceed to ask us questions about ourselves again., and then one of them says we just felt really inspired about you guys. Ok wrong thing to say, I'm a sucker and I don't turn down callings. They had 2 primary callings open the 9 yr olds, and the sunbeams. I would rather have the sunbeams because they are like sponges, they suck it all in. They are hard to get control of, but once you do it's cake after that. I can't deal with older kids that don't want to listen and obey. I had the 11 year old girls twice. I loved the girls, but it was so hard to teach them because they are so ready to get out of primary. Well Matt and I are team teachers for the sunbeams. I'm glad to have matt as my team teacher, it will be good for us! We had our first lesson this past sunday, it really went well. It was really fun to teach them. The kids were all good for the most part. There is one boy that will probably give us problems, better one than 6 though. It was also McKenzie's first time in primary. She was so cute, and well behaved during sharing time/singing time. She is not in our class, which I'm very glad of. Our lesson was on I am a Child of God. We made crowns that said I am a Child of God on them. It was really cute to see the different crowns on all the sunbeams. Their are 3 sunbeam classes, and all of us teachers had different ideas. I liked ours the best. Ours was a home made original the other teachers had a primary book that had a crown pictuer on it. Ours were brite pink, green, and blue posterboard crowns that matt drew himself. He did a great job too!!! The kids liked them, so it went well. I should have taken pictures, but slacked on it. I'll have to take a picture of our sunbeam class though... they are all so cute and little. I just have to keep telling myself this will be a fun good experience for us! Wish us luck in the weeks to come=)

Happy new year!!!

I hope everyone had a great new year!!! I did. =) I had fun playing games, and talking to my family. I barely made it to midnight, I was so tired. I'm so exhaused. I'm just so glad Christmas is over, I'm so glad 2007 is over, it was an extremely hard year. It wasn't all bad, but for the most part it was. I look forward to 2008, and will stay strong, be positive, and keep a smile on my face. I had a list of new years resolutions that I will try my hardest to do and keep. Somebody in our ward on Sunday talked about new years resolutions, and she said set hard realistic ones so you are continually working on it. I wish you all good luck on your new years resolutions.
